Owner: Dylan Thompson- Mackay
Age: 21
Location: New Glasgow, Nova Scotia
Elwood Pens produces handcrafted wooden pens/pencils made of over 40 different hardwoods from around the world, including maple grown in Canada. The name comes from the owner's grandfather (Elwood) and it is hoped to turn the business into a social enterprise, with a portion of sales going to different non-profit organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Alcoholics Anonymous. Organizations likes these lack the funds to expand their work, and Elwood Pens hopes to help ease this burden.
